![]() This is the first block for the BOM-b (Block of the Month with bling) club, "You are My Sunshine". Just wanted to show the fun embellishment techniques that we'll be doing. To start I'll show how to use Texture Magic and add some fun yarn beading with tulle. I am so excited for this adventure and show everyone how easy it is to add that extra special "bling" to your designs!

Hello, It has been crazy getting everything ready to go to Quilt Market in May. The count down is on and I am still working to be ready. New things keep popping up and I just keep telling myself to breath. Woking on my booth display and it is begining to take shape. Had to take a break to watch baseball though. I am planning on having many more info-mercials on embellishments for my new Art-Scapes patterns once market is over, so keep checking back. Thanks and happy Art-Scaping!
![]() Paint sticks are like big color crayons. They are an oil based paint that can be brushed, scrubbed or rubbed onto most any surface. In this case I used them on fabric to simulate applique without the poked fingers. There is a coating on the paintsticks that should be removed before they can be used. First make a simple stencil using freezer paper. The roses and leafy vines on this table runner are my stencil designs. Use an exacto knife and cut out your design. see picture below. Next, Iron the freezer paper stencil to your fabric. Use a stencil brush and load with paint then brush the paint on the areas of fabric exposed by the stencil. Brush toward the center to prevent the edges of your stincil from lifting. Next leave the sencil in place and let the pain dry for about 24 hrs then move on to the next layer. On this piece you can see the two different colors for the roses. I started with the lighter red, then once that was dry, I ironed the cut out stencil pieces on the light red and hit the exposed areas with the darker red. Once the runner is quilted, no one can tell it's paint. Applique made soooo easy. |
